The Carroll County Child Protection Team

 

A Mechanism for Collaboration and Justice

 

                         The Child Protection Team (CPT) of Carroll County uses a multi-disciplinary and coordinated approach to interagency service delivery and maximizes the existing services available to victims of child abuse.  The Child Protection Team meets monthly with an emphasis of intervention, prevention and education.

 

Child Protection Team Composition:

             It is recommended that:

             ©           Core membership be limited to eight or less members and

             ©           Be comprised of representatives from the following:

                          ~ The Carroll County Attorney’s Office

                          ~ The lead law enforcement investigative jurisdiction

                          ~ The NH Division of Children, Youth and Families

                          ~ Wolfeboro Pediatrics in association with Huggins Hospital

                          ~ Northern Human Services - The Mental Health Center

                          ~ Starting Point or other designated victim’s advocate,

                          ~ The Child Advocacy  Center of Carroll County.   

 

Confidentiality: Confidentiality shall be maintained.  Each member shall be required to sign an Agreement of Confidentiality.  Each CPT member shall comply with RSA 169 and RSA 170 and all other applicable statues related to confidentiality.  Any breech in confidentiality is a matter for dismissal from the Child Protection Team

 

CPT Duties Include: 

             ©           providing oversight regarding reported child abuse/neglect incidents

             ©           facilitating the provision of services to child victims and their non-                          offending family members,

             ©           providing technical assistance to all Team partners and the                                  community at large.   

CPT Levels:

 

Core CPT-       The Core CPT is composed of members who have professional expertise necessary to identify and plan for the intervention and prevention of crimes against children and serve in direct correlation to the pursuit of justice on behalf of child victims.

 

Secondary CPT-The secondary CPT is composed of members who have professional expertise necessary to identify and plan for the intervention and prevention of crimes against children and serve as a secondary informant related to case special requests made by the core CPT.

 

Interagency Agreement and CACCC Protocol:

 

             The CPT should encourage and foster interagency cooperation through written agreements and professional conduct between agencies and organizations within Carroll County’s service delivery system. Such agreements shall be reviewed on an annual basis and revised as necessary.

 

             It is an objective and responsibility of the Carroll County Child Protection Team to observe and respect each individual agency’s standards of operation and internal protocols during the course of their work as a team member.
